June 19th, 2008.  I spent the afternoon in an air conditioned coffee house in Provincetown giving my sun-burned body a rest.  At 5pm I decided to take a 'short' walk on the jetty off the west end of town.  That 'short' walk turned out to be two and a half hours as I walked all the way out the jetty, then all the way down the Herring Cove beach and back across the  marshes.  Along the way I passed one person and many interesting sites.  This was one of them.  The park service, as Herring Cove is administered by the National Park Service, places large plastic containers every 1000 yards or so along the beach to collect trash and other 'drift' material.  The colors seemed right, as everything else had and would continue to that day.
